Visioning

There is an old but true saying: Without a vision an organization will perish.

Often an organization continues to do what it always has done without giving much thought to its future. This can be costly and even deadly for an organization. An ideal organization has a vision for its future, reaches that vision, and then develops yet another new vision. This is the life-blood of any effective non-profit.

 

The following are specific areas that often need assistance in order to create a vision for the future. Let Classic Consultants assist you with these items:

  1. Board Development
    It is the responsibility of the Board to set the direction for an organization. Is your Board ready to undertake this responsibility? Do they understand your organization and the needs of the constituent groups you serve? Does the Board understand their role as well as what is required of them to raise money?

  2. Leadership Development
    Key staff and key volunteers must understand their roles as leaders in the organization. Do they grasp what their involvement in raising money means?

    How is your organization at dreaming about its future? Are the dreams what your constituents and clients need? What difference would it make to society if your organization ceased to exist? Every successful organization strives to reach its specific vision and has followers who help support that vision with their dollars.

  4. Strategic Planning
    How should a non-profit be organized to best reach its vision? What goals and objectives need to be accomplished and by when? A strategic plan for your organization is a must.
